Where we visit
Day 1: Hanoi
There are no planned activities today until an evening welcome meeting where you will meet your CEO and fellow travellers. Learn more about your tour with the option to head out for the night to get to know your fellow 18-to-30-something-year-old travellers!
Day 2: Hanoi
Take an orientation walk through Hanoi's Old Quarter, a maze of streets and each one traditionally devoted to a different product or industry. Take note of how each street is named after the trade practiced there for several generations; it's an interesting glimpse into the life of a Hanoian in one of the oldest parts of town. Need a rest? Stop at Bia Hoi corner and grab a local brew while rubbing shoulders with the locals and making new friends.
Day 3: Hanoi/Vinh
Today you'll travel to Ninh Binh, a city along the Red River Delta surrounded by towering karsts and winding rivers. Visit a local pagoda, then hop into a paddle boat for a two-hour guided tour through the area's stunning limestone caves and spectacular riverside. Take in the scenery as you drift past picturesque rice paddies and observe locals going about their day before continuing on to Vinh.
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle between Hanoi and Ninh Binh for approx. 2 hours and Binh to Vinh for approx. 6 hours.
Day 4: Vinh/Phong Nha
Travel through Vietnam's stunning countryside to the mountains of Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park. On arrival, opt to explore the town of Phong Nha by foot or by bike.
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle between Hanoi and Ninh Binh for approx. 2 hours and Binh to Vinh for approx. 6 hours.
Day 5: Phong Nha
Today, opt to head underground to explore the awe-inspiring caves of Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park. Here you can explore the longest cave in all of Asia - Paradise Cave - by walking the boardwalks and taking in the massive white crystal stalactites. After an authentic Vietnamese lunch, board a dragon boat which will take you to the turquoise waters in Phong Nha Cave where you'll disembark on the caves beach and wander freely throughout this natural wonder. Keen to just relax and take a day to yourself? You can also do that on Day 5!
Day 6: Phong Nha/Huế
En route to Hue, visit the Vinh Moc Tunnels, a complex underground cave system that was built by local villagers to escape World War II bombings. Here, take a guided tour of the Vinh Moc tunnels in a former Vietnamese demilitarized zone. Learn about the history of this complex underground cave system and its stories of human resilience. You'll also have time to take an orientation walk around Hue today with your CEO, who will give you some tips on finding things like supermarkets, main squares, and ATMs. Tonight, enjoy a free evening.
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle for approx. 5 hours between Phong Nhe and Huế.
Day 7: Huế/Hoi An
Enjoy a free morning in Hue. Later, travel to the port city of Hoi An. Join your CEO on a walk toward the picturesque Old Town and spot Chinese assembly halls, historic homes, and well-preserved pagodas along the way.
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle for approx. 4 hours between Huế and Hoi An.
Day 8: Hoi An
On Day 8 of your tour, you'll visit the G Adventures-supported Oodles of Noodles for an unforgettable cooking class. Try some of the oodles of noodles (more than 26 types!) available in the city in this tasty cooking class that is run by G for Good partners, STREETS International. Developed exclusively for G Adventures, Oodles of Noodles employs former street youth that are part of the hospitality training program, who will help you prepare and cook a number of different types of noodles. This program helps these youth practice their English, increasing their skill-set and opportunities available to them in the tourism industry. Enjoy your yummy creations while learning more about the local cuisine and this initiative which empowers street youth through skills and employment training.
Then, enjoy a free afternoon before a big night out with the group. Follow your CEO to the best riverside bar in Hoi An to celebrate new adventures with new friends. Grab a drink on the tab and reminisce about your favourite experiences thus far. Later, venture to the dance floor, take advantage of the drink specials, and make it a night to remember!
Day 9: Hoi An
Enjoy a full free day to explore Hoi An's rich culture and heritage, or just chill out and hit the beach.
Day 10: Hoi An/Qui Nhon
Spend the next few days soaking in the best coastal scenery as we hop from one beach town to another. With an early start, travel to Qui Nhon, a tranquil beach town largely off the tourist radar. Enjoy epic seaside views and opt to try the delicious regional cuisine.
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle between Hoi An and Qui Nhon for approx. 7 hours.
Day 11: Qui Nhon/Nha Trang
On Day 11 you'll travel to Nha Trang via the stunning passes of Cổ Mã and Deo Cả, with sweeping views of the coastline as you drive past secluded bays and lush, green valleys.
Then, bring your appetite and your wallet as you head out for an evening street food crawl. The CEO will bring the group to the best spots to eat and teach everyone about the local street food. Yum!
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle between Qui Nhon and Nha Trang for approx. 6 hours.
Day 12: Nha Trang/Mui Ne
Enjoy a free morning to explore Nha Trang's local shops and markets. Opt to hit the beach and go snorkelling, or visit the local mud baths. Continue to Mui Ne, an off-the-beaten-track seaside retreat lined with palm trees and endless white sand where you can catch your breath as the trip nears its end.
Transport: Today, travel by private vehicle between Nha Trang and Mui Ne for approx. 5 hours.
Day 13: Mui Ne
Enjoy a full free day to experience this little slice of coastal paradise. Opt to view the sunrise over towering sand dunes, visit the local seafood market, go sandboarding or kitesurfing, relax on the beach, or stop by a local fish sauce factory...which is surprisingly delicious!
Day 14: Mui Ne/Ho Chi Minh City
Today, travel to Ho Chi Minh City. Here, head out for an orientation walk with your CEO and get a feel for Vietnam's buzzing southern capital. Opt to visit the Ben Thanh Market for souvenirs and handicrafts, before hitting one of the city's many rooftop bars and celebrating your final night on the tour.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh City

Allow $150 - $195 USD for meals. Eating is a big part of traveling. On this tour, you'll experience the vast array of wonderful food. Generally meals are not included in the trip price when there is a choice of eating options, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility, though generally food is cheap. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your CEO will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip.
In some major cities in Vietnam, many hotel rooms do not have windows.
Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip.
Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and single travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.
We suggest that you pack as lightly as possible as your are expected to carry your own luggage. As a rule, we try not to have to walk more than 15-20 minutes with your bags which is why we recommend keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. Suitcases are not recommended. Most travellers carry a backpack or rolling bag of small to medium size (no XXL ones please!). You will also need a day pack/bag to carry water, cameras and other electronics like ipods and mobile phones. If your trip involves overnights in homestays, villages or camping then you usually have the opportunity to rent sleeping bags if need be instead of bringing them with you.

When you are checking onto your international flight heading to Vietnam, you will often be asked by airline ticket counter personnel to provide a proof of exit from Vietnam. In respect to this requirement, we encourage our travellers to print out a copy of their tour vouchers, along with a PDF copy of their Tour Details from the webpage. These references, along with entry and exit details on travellers Vietnam visa should be sufficient information.
For a tour departing between January 19, 2022 and April 30, 2023, travellers will be permitted to cancel their confirmed tour services, pre- or post tour accommodation services, extra services, or transfer services at any time prior to 14 days from the date of tour departure at no charge if they also rebook another tour service and/or reschedule travel to a later date, which later date must be within two years of the initial departure date.
The traveller must rebook their deferred travel at the same time as their cancellation in order for the policy to be applicable.
For tours booked to depart between January 19, 2022 and April 30, 2023, the traveller will be responsible to pay the difference if the rebooked tour is priced higher than the original tour and will receive a travel credit for the difference that will be kept on file with The Supplier for two yea
