Lake Cave has 325 steps.&nbsp;At each cave, the steps are staged, with sections of boardwalk between them, and rest-stops at platforms along the way.

Yes, photography is encouraged from the viewing platforms, but for safety reasons is not recommended when walking on the stairs.&nbsp;You can use a flash, but most people find that they get better photos without it.

Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed in the cave to ensure the safety of all visitors and the preservation of the delicate cave decorations and adhere to timing constraints.

Ngilgi Cave is actually quite warm, maintaining a reasonably constant temperature of 20 ̊C.

Yes, all the caves are open, even if the weather is very wet.

Since there are quite a few steps involved in most of the tours, comfortable enclosed shoes are recommended, however, you can still do the tours in thongs/flip flops/jandals if you feel you can.

The caves are fragile environments, and we try to minimise our impact on these irreplaceable natural attractions as much as possible; for this reason, we ask visitors not to bring too much into the cave with them (remember also you will have to carry it while climbing!)

Bring a camera and water if you need it; but no other drinks, and no food. Depending on the weather; sunscreen, a hat and/or wet weather gear may be required.&nbsp;

As you walk through the caves, there will be places where you are required to bend down a little or turn to the side slightly to avoid bumping your head or shoulder, but most of the caverns are quite open. If in doubt, the best cave to visit is Mammoth Cave, with its huge open caverns and easy entrance, it tends to allay most people&rsquo;s phobias.

There is excellent lighting throughout the caves, and on guided tours, the guide will operate these as you move through the cave and use a torch to highlight points of interest.

Lake Cave is a stunning pristine chamber deep beneath the earth. Inside the cave, a tranquil lake reflects delicate formations that will take your breath away. To put it simply, it&#39;s a mirrored wonderland. See&nbsp;the &#39;Suspended Table&#39;, a spectacular crystal decoration weighing several tonnes that hangs from the ceiling, almost touching the waters of the lake.

This cave is the most &#39;actively dripping&#39; cave in the southwest, and it&#39;s the only cave on the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge that has a permanent lake.&nbsp;Lake Cave is also the deepest of the show caves on the ridge, and is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful limestone caves in Western Australia.

While seated at the back of the chamber, you can enjoy the unique &#39;underground ambience&#39; of the cave with the sound of these droplets falling to the lake. Your guide will change the feature lighting within the cavern to provide unique views of the cave features and formations.

Visitors descend a staircase in time, with access through a spectacular doline (sinkhole),&nbsp;gazing up at the&nbsp;towering karri trees from the floor of the sunken forest before entering the cave. It&#39;s a must-do experience.

&nbsp;Above ground, admire the views from the Lake Cave Deck; a spectacular viewing platform in the treetops, suspended over the sunken entry to the cave. Don&rsquo;t forget to brush up on your cave knowledge at the interpretive centre, with information about the Leeuwin-Naturaliste caves, as well as fascinating insights into caves all over the world.
