For tours of 1 day or less duration the following policies apply:

In all instances, the refund provided by The Operator will be that portion of the payment which they received. Any monies paid to third parties such as booking agents are not covered by this refund policy. It is your responsibility to pursue that refund from them directly subject to their Terms &amp; Conditions

The adventures invariably are conducted in, on and around sites of traditional Aboriginal land tenure in the presence of Indigenous Australians. Where possible we have sought and received approval for access from the relevant indigenous management authority, Traditional Owners or caretaker group for those sites. 
 
When thinking about aboriginal culture tours it needs to be appreciated that the Australian Aboriginal Society is the longest continuous civilisation on earth (80,000 years+). We believe it is impossible to do complete &lsquo;cultural tours&rsquo;. For how can you cram 1000s of years of endeavour into a 1, 3 or 5-day itinerary! 
 
Recognising this we do however attempt to provide you with enough knowledge of pre-history and the landscape as we can as a starting point for you to begin your journey of understanding and appreciation for the people and their culture. Where possible we also include indigenous guides where appropriate.

We don&rsquo;t run a boot camp but we do want people to be able to actively &amp; safely participate in whatever we get up to on tour. With this in mind, we figure that if you are able to &lsquo;Skip&rsquo; for 5 metres then you are in fine shape and will have no worries with most of our trips. As standard, there are walks/hikes of low to medium difficulty, mild to hot days (25-45 C), swimming spots, stairs, sand, gorges and gullies.&nbsp; 
 
If you are signing up for a charter or speciality trip involving things such as rafting, kayaking, diving or such then specific medical and physical fitness criteria will be required to be met. Details for these will be made available for you at the time of enquiry for the particular adventure. 
 
Unfortunately, if your fitness and agility are a little less than that which is required we will not in the interest of safety and enjoyment take you on the associated adventure.

It is always a good idea to bring the following on any trip in Australia particularly if going into the bush: Hat, water bottle (at least 500ml),&nbsp;sunglasses, camera, comfortable walking shoes, any medicines you may need. However, you will not need to bring sunscreen or insect repellent as we provide you with environmentally friendly alternatives whilst you are with us.&nbsp;

Most people think that the Top End just has the two seasons &hellip; &lsquo;The Wet&rsquo; and &lsquo;The Dry&rsquo; and for most this is a good practical reflection of their understanding and interaction with the various aspects of the environment (but there are at least 6!). 
 
The Wet tends to be very wet and sticky. Humidity in the 90&prime;s and rainfall falling most days results in totals around 2000mm for the season. While The Dry is 5 months (May-September) of blue skies and sunshine as predictable as future tax increases but more importantly no humidity. 
 
The Dry has a mild climate which allows you to get out and about markets, festivals, trips, marriages. Perfect for those with specific activities in mind or a dislike for humidity. 
 
While the Wet features the awesome power of the low-pressure storms which characterise this time of year with lightning displays like nowhere else on earth! There&rsquo;s a cacophony of sounds from the lush green woodlands and forests as the animals and plants revel in the abundance of water. Barra on the move, crabs on the march and waterfalls cascading of great heights. The Wet is a powerful world and definitely a bucket list experience!!! 
 
So, when is the best time to come? Anytime is the best time to come!

Hopefully No ! However here are some rough stats for Australia &hellip;

<ol>
	<li>In Australia between 1 &amp; 4 deaths occur each year from between 500-3000 snake bites. In the NT between 1989 &amp; 2003, there were 348 suspected snakebites of which 79 people were envenomed and required treatment.</li>
	<li>Between 1991-2000 the average croc attacks were around 2 a year. For 2001-2004 this number went to approximately 4. Apparently in response to increasing crocodile numbers and a decrease in croc habitat through human encroachment. 1971-2013 there were 62 attacks in the NT with 18 being fatal. 81% of attacks were whilst people were swimming with 95% of those attacked being locals or people visit the NT regularly &hellip; 75% were male!</li>
	<li>Stingers stinger season in the Top End runs from September to June&hellip; don&rsquo;t swim in the ocean. July/Aug wear protective clothing when going into the water. Historically there have been 14 deaths in Australia from marine stingers in the 20th &amp; 21st Centuries. Hundreds, however, have been stung.</li>
	<li>Drop bears &hellip; zero fatalities have been recorded throughout Australia, however, unconfirmed reports of attack are numerous.</li>
</ol>

If you are going on a day trip you really only need those things we have already listed as &lsquo;what to bring&rsquo;.

Although your children are angels, it is sometimes difficult to convince others that this is the case! Especially when they are being naughty in a confined space such as a plane or a tour vehicle. In the interest of fairness to others, we do not take children under 8 years old on our open tours. We do however offer family tours (as a private charter) which allow for all members of any age to hang out together and have fun.

Your Northern Territory wildlife tour begins with an early start to catch the magnificent outback sunrise on the floodplains of the mighty Adelaide River.&nbsp;As the warm golden rays highlight the red tones of the landscape, you&#39;ll head south through open savanna woodlands.

&nbsp;

Nearby is Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve,&nbsp;where the diverse habitats of monsoonal forest, wetland and floodplain combine to provide the perfect place to observe the Top End&#39;s unique wildlife.&nbsp;The area boasts over 230 species of birds, as well as one of the largest snake populations in Australia to keep them company.&nbsp;

Here you&#39;ll also begin your&nbsp;bushcraft journey of discovery by learning some of the bush foods and medicine plants of the Top End amidst nature at its finest.&nbsp;

Fogg Dam is also the perfect place to snack on delicious homemade hot ham and cheese croissants and enjoy&nbsp;a hot brew or juice &ndash; it&#39;s breakfast with the birds, Top End style!&nbsp;Relax and admire the antics of the abundant wildlife that frolic, scamper and glide all around.

Leaving Fogg Dam and a short journey later, find yourself at Corroboree Billabong for an immersive wildlife cruise. Corroboree is linked to the expansive Mary River. As such, there is plenty to see on your 1 hr 30-minute adventure.&nbsp;Not only will you get up close to crocodiles in their natural state, but you will also learn of the broader wetland ecosystem. Monsoonal floods and drought-like winters dominate the ebb and floe lifecycle of the environments of the Top End.

After the cruise, savour a&nbsp;fresh homemade lunch by the billabong before a journey to the coast and an introduction to the mangroves.

&nbsp;

The Northern Territory mangroves are the protectors of the coast and nurseries to local favourites such as mud crabs, prawns and Barramundi.&nbsp;Fortunately, the Northern Territory is blessed with healthy, vibrant examples of this type of ecosystem and has around 90% of all species of mangroves in the world represented along its coastline! During your short walk through the mangrove system (on an elevated boardwalk), there are plenty of opportunities to look closely at the intricate web of life found here before calling it a day.

		<li>All bookings are made with Tracey and Rob Woods trading as Ethical Adventures NT / Ethical Adventures / Sticks and Stones Adventures hereafter collectively referred to as Ethical Adventures NT (ABN: 45 757 315 390).</li>
		<li>By booking an experience with us you are deemed to have agreed to these Booking Conditions (which constitutes the entire agreement between you and us) and your booking will be accepted by us on this basis. The services to be provided are those referred to in your booking confirmation invoice.</li>
		<li>Dates of experiences, itineraries and prices are subject to change for which we reserve the right to do so at any time.</li>
		<li>If booking through a third party you may be required to pay a deposit for your booking. Recovery of this amount in the event of non-participation for whatever reason will be subject to the booking agent&#39;s policies and may be non-recoverable. Cancelled bookings made direct to us are subject to our cancellation policy (Point 2 below).</li>
		<li>Acceptance of your booking will be confirmed by email and/or text. Please refer to your booking confirmation invoice for details regarding final payments. Payment of the balance of the trip price is due no later than immediately prior to departure on the day of trip. If this balance is not paid on or before this time we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and you may be unable to participate in the tour for that day.</li>
		<li>In order for The Operator to confirm your travel arrangements you must provide all requested details and the deposit (if required) at the time of booking. Necessary details include full name,any relevant pre-existing medical conditions (which may affect your ability to complete your travel arrangements or participate in our adventures), contact details, pickup location, food allergies and considerations.</li>
		<li>If you wish to transfer from one trip to another or transfer your booking to a third party we require that you notify us at least 48 hours in advance for our day trips or those of lesser duration and up to 4 weeks prior for extended multi-day tour options. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your tour with refunds subject to our cancellation policy (Point 2 below).</li>
		<li>If late for pickup we will attempt to contact you by the phone number. In the advent that you are unreachable and more than 10 minutes late it will be assumed that you are not attending and your booking will be cancelled. Any monies taken will be forfeit in this situation.</li>
		<li value="1">Booking direct.

			<li>In the case of private charter payment will be required prior to departure date. This will be advised in your tour documentation.</li>

		<li>Cancellation by the traveller Refunds from cancelled trips will be paid out according to the table below. The Operator reserves the right to take into account mitigating circumstances of your situation and may increase the refund amount where it deems appropriate. For tours of 1 day or less duration the following table applies: Greater than 48 hours notice - 100% refund 48-24 hours notice -50% refund less than 24 hours notice - zero refund In all instances the refund provided by The Operator will be that portion of payment which we received. Any monies paid to third parties such as booking agents is not covered by our refund policy. It is your responsibility to pursue that refund from them directly subject to their Terms &amp; Conditions.</li>
		<li>If We (The Operator) Cancels a trip due to logistical or operational issues, insufficient sign-ups or any other cause that makes the trip unfeasible for us to operate. You will be advised as soon as practicably possible by The Operator staff. If we cannot facilitate your trip then we will endeavour to place you with another operator of our choosing. If we do not find an alternative for you that is acceptable to you and us you will receive a full refund performed via internet transfer of funds or cash payout. This amount will include any reservations monies paid to third parties such as Booking Agents for your tour with The Operator. This will constitute full settlement. We may also cancel departures if forced to do so by circumstances such as fire, cyclones, industrial action etc. or what is commonly referred to as force majeure. Force Majeure (FM) In the case of FM and The Operator is forced to cancel a trip we will follow the &#39;normal&#39; If We Cancel Policy above</li>
		<li>If you are unable to attend a tour due to FM and are forced to cancel then you will likewise be treated according to the same policy</li>

	<li>Complaints &amp; Endorsements &nbsp;</li>

The Operator relies on your feedback to ensure that all aspects of our adventures are to the highest standard and to help us achieve our goals, leaving you more than satisfied. For this reason we encourage you to contact us via our email address and/or leave comments on our social media sites. Included in this are FACEBOOK, TRIP ADVISOR and LINKEDIN. Our choice to use online forms rather than paper forms reflects our commitment to maintaining a minimalistic paper use business.

Our Adventure prices are based on Australian Dollars at the time of booking confirmation. All payments are to be made in Australian Dollars. They do include GST. We do accept credit cards directly. These are subject to a credit card fee at the time of booking. Payment can also be via Bank Transfer or Cash on the day. Bank details will be provided on request at time of confirmation of booking or payment can be made on the day immediately prior to departure in cash.

	<li>Age &amp; Disability Limitations

	<ol>
		<li>All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for the child&#39;s behaviour whilst on tour. Children under 8 years of age are not be accepted for any set tours however children from 4 years of age may travel for free on our shuttle service to the Territory Wildlife Park.</li>
		<li>When booking a charter tour it is possible in some circumstances to accommodate children under the age of 8 years old. This can be discussed at time of booking.</li>
		<li>There is no upper limit for our adventures however due to the nature of the terrain and weather conditions we reserve the right to refuse on the day any passenger who we deem unable to fully and safely participate in that tours activities. In this case the passenger will be subject to Refund Policy</li>
		<li>As a rule of thumb you should be able to skip for 5 metres continuously without undue stress.</li>
		<li>There are no age restrictions associated with Chartered Tours however fitness and flexibility levels outlined in 5(d) above still apply.</li>
	</ol>
	</li>
	<li>Travel Insurance &nbsp;</li>
</ol>

Travel insurance is highly recommended. Your travel insurance should cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation with a recommended minimum coverage of AUS$200,000 for each of the heads of cover.

	<li>Change of Itinerary

		<li>Due to the nature of the environment and location of our adventures we may be required to alter the itinerary as previously represented with little or no prior notice being given to you. We will however attempt to inform you prior to departure as soon as is reasonably possible and offer to reschedule you on another trip or refund your payment if the changes are not to your liking.</li>
		<li>We also reserve the right to alter the itinerary if in our belief a better experience will be had for the majority of passengers on board on that particular day.</li>
		<li>We reserve the right to change an itinerary after departure due to local circumstances or events outside of our control.</li>
	</ol>
	</li>
	<li>Local Law &amp; Authority on tour </li>
</ol>

Our adventures generally occur in remote, ecological important and culturally sensitive environments. For these reason and more all participants must act in accordance with local law and within the acceptable bounds of local customs whilst maintaining safety of all participants. Your guide will have final say on all matters likely to affect the safety or well-being of any person participating in the trip or the integrity of the locality. If you fail to comply with a decision made by your guide, or interfere with the well-being of the group, the group leader may order you to leave the trip immediately, with no right of refund.

	<li>Acceptance of risk </li>
</ol>

You acknowledge that the nature of the trip is adventurous and participation involves a degree of personal risk. You will be visiting places where the fauna, flora and geographical attributes present dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in our daily lives. However it is also your own responsibility to acquaint yourself with all possible relevant travel information and safety related information which will help you on your adventure with us. You acknowledge that your decision to travel is made in light of consideration of this information and you accept that you assume the personal risks attendant upon such travel.

	<li>Limitation of Liability

		<li>We may contract with a network of companies, government agencies and individuals to assist in the running of our trips as agent for these third parties. We are not responsible for the acts and omissions of these third parties. To the fullest extent permitted by law: i. any liability for any loss, death, injury or damage which you may suffer (directly or indirectly) in connection with or arising out of your participation in a trip, or any breach of the Booking Conditions, is excluded; ii. you release us and our officers, employees, agents and representatives from any liability and expressly waive any claims you may have against us arising out of or in connection with your participation in a trip; and iii. any condition or warranty which would otherwise be implied by law into these Booking Conditions (Implied Warranty), is excluded.</li>
		<li>To the extent an Implied Warranty cannot be excluded, our liability in respect of the Implied Warranty is limited to (in our absolute discretion):

			<li>the provision of a similar trip to an equivalent value; or</li>
			<li>a refund of the total amount received by us from you in connection with your booking.</li>
		</ol>
		</li>
		<li>Any claim by you is excluded to the extent that it is for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits or economic loss, however it arises, or for indirect, special, punitive or exemplary damages.</li>
	</ol>
	</li>
	<li>Optional Activities</li>

Any activities not normally forming part of our adventures are not included in this contract. Although these may have been undertaken during our tour timeframe and via assistance from your guide you accept that any assistance given by your guide in arranging optional activities does not render us liable for them.

Where a complaint has been lodged then The Operator will investigate the cause and seek to remedy the situation. In such cases you (the plaintiff) will be contacted to be informed of changes or the outcome of the complaint.

In the event that any Term or Condition contained in these Booking Conditions is unenforceable or void by operation of law or as being against public policy or for any other reason then such Term or Condition shall be deemed to be severed from this contract or amended accordingly only to such extent necessary to allow all remaining terms and conditions to survive and continue as binding.

		<li>By participating in our Adventures you consent to The Operator using images of you taken during the trip for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium we choose. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes</li>
		<li>If at the time of booking the trip you wish to void the consent given in 15(a) you will be required to state this in an email clearly stating &#39;I do not give permission to use my image for any marketing material associated with The Operator at the time of booking. No exceptions.</li>
	</ol>
	</li>
	<li>Privacy Policy 
	<ol>
		<li>Any personal information given to The Operator will remain private.</li>
		<li>Any personal information gathered will never be sold to any third party for any reason. The Operator only collects personal information from visitors in order to process requests initiated by that person or there representative in order to perform a booking, payment or feedback. We may provide your details to our agents in order to facilitate your requested services from us.</li>
		<li>Once your transaction with The Operator is completed you can request your personal details be deleted from our records.</li>
		<li>You may be contacted by The Operator in the future in regards to its activities. If you do not wish this to occur clearly state &#39; I do not wish to be contacted by The Operator in the future&#39; and we will delete your details from our records and only respond to your communications.</li>
	</ol>
	</li>
	<li>Applicable Law </li>
</ol>

The laws of the Northern Territory, Australia govern these Booking conditions and any disputes in connection with a trip or these Booking Conditions must be initiated in the courts of the Northern Territory, Australia.
