Beautiful Lamb Range in Cairns is a free hiking hike that consists of open woodland, giant gum trees, savanna habitat and Xanthorrhoea grass trees, offering spectacular scenery with granite boulders coursing the summit area.

FNQ Nature Tours is the only Cairns tour operator offing guided Hiking Experiences. The hike is located in the Dinden National Park and consists of open woodland, giant gum trees, savanna habitat and Xanthorrhoea grass trees. The track is a 10 kilometre experience of a lifetime and offers hiking experiences with the smells and sounds of the ancient Wet Tropical Rainforest. Experienced hikers are encouraged to take a walk while the birds are singing and the early dawn light beaming through the open forest. After the hike, visitors can travel a short distance to Davies Creek for a picnic lunch and a swim.

	<li>Cancellation of your booking must be made by phone or by email.</li>
	<li>You are entitled to a full refund only if a minimum of 24 hours&nbsp;notice is given before the scheduled departure.</li>
	<li>If you choose to cancel within 24 hours before the start of your tour, no refunds will be granted.</li>
	<li>There will be times when the influence of mother nature (adverse weather) on a program or activity means we need to amend or cancel the program. It is a decision purely based on safety and overall enjoyment of an activity. When the tour&nbsp;cancels a trip we will refund any money paid in full.</li>
	<li>You can choose to change your tour departure to another date (subject to availability). Permission to do this up to 24 hours before departure is subject to availability and is entirely at the discretion of the tour.</li>
	<li>If the reason for your cancellation is covered under your insurance policy, you may be able to make a claim under that policy.</li>
	<li>In the case of a private group booking or a private bus hire we would require 1 week (7 days) notice of cancellation. Where 7 days to 24 hours notice is given, a 25% fee may be charged at the discretion of the tour. No refund will be given for bookings cancelled within 24 hours.</li>
	<li>The most important details regarding CANCELLATION POLICY are that cancellations made to private or Group tours must be paid a 25% fee applicable for cancellation. Cancellations received less than 30 days but more than 7 days prior to departure, as well as less than 48 hours or for non-appearance to commence the tour, all monies will be forfeited. For Shared Experiences, fees apply at least 7 days before departure.</li>

The day tours start in Cairns city, with pickups starting at 0730. For guests in the Northern Beaches suburbs, the pickup time is 0800 and Port Douglas, 0830. Airport pickups and luggage storage can also be arranged.

We offer private tours to suit guests&#39; needs, but services are limited by vehicle fleets infrastructure and infrastructure. We are unable to provide an accessible bathroom or wheelchairs for those with more limited mobility, so we contact each guest personally when booking to discuss their needs and the services they are best able to provide.

Saltwater Crocodiles are best spotted in the cooler months of the year (April-Oct) and spend more time bathing in the sun to warm their reptile bodies. In Queensland, they do not feed or entice their wild animals and have a 100% success rate with Croc spotting. During difficult weather, we may spend extra time on the cruise to fulfil our desires.

Summer months, day, repellant, shoes, and wear are that there are generally comfortable clothes in the tropics, a light jacket is recommended for wildlife spotting, hiking shoes are not necessary for day tours, flat comfortable shoes or sandals are okay for our day walks, and long sleeve shirts and pants may be necessary to combat the occasional insect. However, it may not be advisable during the Summer months due to higher humidity, and guides will keep us informed when it&#39;s advisable to wear repellinant. Eco-friendly insect repellants are also carried in our vehicles.

The Dec-April period in the Wet Tropics region was a great time to experience seasonal wet weather, especially when Tropical Cyclones were approaching the FNQ coast. To avoid this, it is important to cancel tours due to potential flooding and fallen trees blocking access to National Parks. During the off-peak season, individuals may also experience cancellations.

Experience the smells and sounds of the ancient Wet Tropical Rainforest.&nbsp;This hike is classed as &lsquo;Difficult&rsquo; and recommended&nbsp;for experienced hikers.

7:00: am: Pickup in Cairns 
Heading west, the tour drives&nbsp;up the beautiful scenic Kuranda Range and continue along the Kennedy highway to Dinden National Park. The tour finds shade and prepares for the walk.

 
8:15 am: Prepare for hike 
The tour takes some time&nbsp;to get the&nbsp;gear and bodies ready for the hike. Several alternate hikes are available to suit a range of difficulty levels. The tour offers a 3-hour moderate hike or the popular 6-hour difficult hike. Snacks, muesli bars and fruit will be provided to keep our energy high for the walk.

 
8:30 am: Begin hiking Lamb Range 
The most popular trail is a 10-kilometre experience of a lifetime. The Rainforest habitat with its beautiful Oraniopis palms and Cycads will amaze you! Experience the ancient smells and sounds of a Rainforest that survived the breakup of the Gondwana Supercontinent. There are several peaks to this ridge trail, all offering different views and abundant natural landscape. Lamb Range is classed as a difficult hiking trail. However, difficulty levels can be modified for families!

 
2:30 pm:&nbsp;Accomplished! 
Upon return from the mountain, the tour has a long break to enjoy a picnic lunch and cool off in Davies Creek. Facilities present.

 
3:30 pm:&nbsp;Depart National Park 
After a yummy lunch and refreshing swim, the tour&nbsp;chills out and discusses fun tales of the hike on the&nbsp;way back to Cairns.

 
5:00 pm:&nbsp;Arrive in Cairns 
We&rsquo;ll drop you back at your accommodation in Cairns at 5:00 pm.

FNQ Nature Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour and refund the tour price in the event that it is unable to proceed with a booked tour on a particular day or days. The price payable by the traveller is GST inclusive, unless otherwise stated, and they are bound by these terms and conditions by the booking in their own right or having a booking made on their behalf by another person from the time of booking. The child age is 0-14 years and the family price is inclusive for 2 adults (14-over) and 2 children (0-14 hours). A binding tour contract incorporating these grounds and conditions will be formed when FNQ Nature Tour confirms the traveller&#39;s booking, which it will do on receipt of the pre-payment or the tour cost. A minimum of 2 travellers is required for a shared tour and FNQ Mother Tours may cancel a trip if that minimum number is not met.

If you do not comply with the said representative and are not compatible with the general enjoyment and well-being of members of the tour, the tour&nbsp;reserves the right to refuse to allow you to continue the tour.
